Surrey French Immersion: check the programme before the postcode.
A home’s regular school catchment does not establish a French Immersion place. Start with your child’s entry grade, then confirm the programme’s application process and the practical journey from each home.

Early and Late Immersion have different entry points
Surrey’s Early French Immersion starts in Kindergarten; Grade 1 entry depends on available space. Late French Immersion starts in Grade 6. For a child transferring at another grade, ask the programme school about entry requirements instead of assuming an address lookup answers that question.
Register locally, then check the choice application
The district asks families to register at their regular catchment school before applying to a Kindergarten Lottery Program. Early French Immersion Kindergarten applications use the choice-programme lottery. Use the district’s current application instructions for dates and options; a regular school assignment is a separate result.
A nearby house does not secure a lottery place
The district FAQ says lottery positions are random, not determined by submission order. A waitlist is not an offer. Check the current acceptance instructions and monitor the email address used in the application. Ask the school directly about transfers, siblings and any circumstances specific to your child.
Compare the trip as well as the address
Surrey’s choice-programme FAQ says transportation is not provided. Before choosing a home, work through drop-off, collection and a backup plan for each possible school. Keep the regular catchment result and the programme application status in separate columns of your home comparison.
